Today's lesson - Top heavy teams lose games...

Please can't we turn the calendar back a year? I mean - it was wonderful... the sun was shining, games weren't getting "snowed" out and my team was winning. I was picking up guys like Jared Weaver and Ryan Howard for a couple of million here - 1 million there... my infield was solid, my outfield had Jason Bay and Jermaine Dye - I was consistently in the top 2 or 3 scoring each day... who cares if I waive a player or two to pick that 'hot' young stud coming out AAA.

Now this year - I'm carrying salaries for guys I barely remember - I feel like a sorority girl with a drinking problem... who was that guy? Was he really on my team? Why am I still paying him? And now - now that there is no money in the bank - I'm watching the unknown players immerge from the ranks and watching them go to other teams... as I see my scores after day 1 - 18. Day 2 - 24. Day 3 - 36. My opponents? Day 1 - 71. Day 2 - 132. Day 3 - 155. Oh, but hey - I've got a few guys I waved last year that are doing great! Nice to see they could figure out their 'issues' and turn their careers around.

So this may not be my year - and... I may have learned my lesson about waving player after player to free up salary to get that new 'stud'... but - what if I waive Carpenter? I could get 4 million back... and... Oh, never mind...
